It is a night of celebration in the Nighthawks Cafe. Matt, Trevor, Jennie the Waitress, Saul the cook, and all of the other denizens of the Nighthawks Diner want to wish a special “Congratulations” to our own house musician and Oscar Czar, Cameron Maris, who is a brand new father this week.
In a salute to the newest addition to Cameron’s family, Matt and Trevor are rerunning our Fathers and Food episode from June of 2015.
Recorded for Father’s Day 2015, The Nighthawks sit down at the diner for a piping hot cup of films about pabulum and patres familias, diet and dads, food and fathers.
First up is the John Favreau passion vehicle CHEF, a heart-warming film about a man who must learn to sift his love of cooking, to find the ingredients of bonding with his son.
Similarly, the documentary JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI is about the world’s greatest sushi chef who not only must perfect his craft, but pass his knowledge down to the next generation.
Gang, fair warning: don’t watch these films with an empty stomach.
